Child Blocks-About MeBalls, Blocks and Dolls

My baby pictures show evidence of toys I played with my first few years of life. I learned to walk pushing a popcorn popper push toy.

According to my mother, I dragged my beloved doll LaLa everywhere. My earliest memories include LaLa as well as using my play kitchen to cook up a plethora of dishes that I would serve to any adult who happened to be in the vicinity.

My own two children play with similar toys. Blocks, trucks, cars and balls are my what you will find my preschool son occupied with. My daughter is learning to walk pushing a lion push toy and loves to use the play kitchen to cook pizza and cookies with her brother.

Every evening, my husband and I scramble to help our kids pick up toys scattered inside and outside our country farmhouse. It can be quite the task, but I am glad for the evidence that my children are using their imagination to learn.

As an early childhood educator, I understand the importance that play has in the development of children. Toys are the instruments that enhance children’s imaginative activities.

From a very young age, children use toys to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Providing children with opportunities for play is vital for their growth and development. Purchasing toys that help children develop is one way to ensure children have what they need to learn through play.

My Goal

It is my goal through this website, that you will find toys, books and activities that will help your child develop, grow and learn. The toys on this site are either ones I have used with my own children or students or ones that I would recommend as a parent and a teacher.

If you have any questions or need help, please leave a comment below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

  1. Thank you, Kisha! It is very easy to rely on technology to occupy kids. I have been known to do that myself since it is so accessible and kids love it. Toys are timeless, though, and so much better for development. Thanks for your thoughts!

  2. I love this! Thank you so much! I think this information is great for parents looking to avoid so much tech time. My toddlers love their iPad and often will look over thier toys. I will definitely be back to read more of your suggestions!
